In July we will host 2 Youth Alive conferences. This will be our 18th year to hold Youth Alive. We have seen hundreds of teenagers to come to Christ as a result of these camps! The camp in Illinois is struggling and because of contracts that we had to sign to reserve our spot, it is too late to cancel so we are going full speed ahead. The camp in Illinois will be just as great of a camp as the one in Oklahoma. It does mean however, that I need to raise substantial financial help in order to pay all of our bills and meet our obligations.
I am allowing 22 teenagers from Carmi Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi, Illinois to come to Youth Alive at no charge. Of course, they do not have a budget for this and would not be able to pay. I am seeking supporters for these kids. They are not orphans but rather kids that have been abandoned or abused or for what ever reason fell through the system. We had several of these kids with us last year and it was a great experience for both them and us.
Please pray about supporting one or more of these teens. The cost to support one is $269. Perhaps you cannot pay that but could pay half ($134.50). It would be an investment in a young persons life and could mean the difference as to where they will spend eternity.
If there is a businessman or a family that would like to help underwrite a portion of the camp that would take a huge burden off of me. I think we need right at $17,000 to make sure we do not go into the red.
We began the month of May in Joelton, Tennessee. This was the first time for us to be with Pastor David Royalty and First Baptist Church. We had great services with many decisions being made in all of the services. There were a total of 47 who came for salvation.
May 5th was the National Day of Prayer and I spoke at First Baptist Church of Lowell, North Carolina for Pastor David Irish. There was a great representation from the surrounding community and they had an excellent program. We had 7 people pray to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The second week of May, we were in a revival at Fellowship Church in Waldorf, Maryland with our good friends Marvin and Donna Harris. The church had worked hard and prayed hard and the Lord blessed with 54 precious people coming for salvation! There was a spirit of revival in all of the services. Churches can still have revival crusades if they are willing to sacrifice and work hard and pray asking God for revival! On Sunday morning, two of our wonderful friends, Don and Paula Tracey came from Rockville, Marland to be with us. They have been long time friends and supporters of Tim Lee Ministries. Patriotic Partner, Paul Baker was there as well!
On Sunday May 15th, we were in Sevierville, Tennessee at Sevier Heights Baptist Church. This was my 3rd time to be with Pastor Hollie Miller and these wonderful people. The first time I was there they had around 1,000 in attendance. They now average over 3,000 on Sunday morning. On this Sunday 45 people came to Christ for salvation and there were numbers who came for baptism and church membership. On Sunday evening, 3 young men surrendered to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ!
On the next Sunday, we were in Hampton, Virginia at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Grant Ethridge. We had 2 glorious services with a total of 29 people coming to Christ. They are in the process of building a beautiful new 3,500 seat auditorium.
The last Sunday of May, we were with Pastor Herb Reavis at North Jacksonville Baptist Church which is one of our favorite places to go! It was Memorial Day weekend and several were gone, but we still had over 2,000 for the morning worship service and there was a good crowd back on Sunday evening. We saw 15 precious souls came to Christ for salvation.
Connie and I took an early flight back to Dallas and we had a back yard cook out with the children and grand children. I love my family and these kinds of times are too few so I cherish them. May was awesome and now I am anticipating what June will bring. I need your help more than ever before. Thank you for standing with me and holding up my arms. I love each of you and your families.
